Los Angeles: Wilshire Homicide Detectives are asking for the public's help in finding anyone who may have witnessed the shooting of a man in an alley.
On Thursday, May 18, 2025 at about 3:00 a.m., Melton Epps, a 42-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was in the alley next to 1800 South Marvin Avenue. He was involved in a dispute with two men who fatally shot him multiple times in the chest.
The first suspect is described as a black man. The second suspect is described as a Hispanic man approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium built.
Anyone with information is asked to call Wilshire Homicide Detectives Cade or Parshall at 213-473-0446. On weekends and during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
One of the reasons I got the hell out of this cesspool. LA is gonna kill itself out and that's good too. The police Dept. is dirty, doesn't want to be everywhere,(thats why there is more of a presence in the valley than Watts), and the City doesn't let you legally carry protection. Getting 'caught' carrying protection makes you a criminal. What a joke this place is.

L.A. is no different than any other place. There is no escaping crime,which is a result of sin. If you think the answer to the problem is everyone carrying so -called"protection" then you have totally missed the point,All that would serve to do is make matters worse. A bunch of vigilantee's trying to take the law into their own hands,is total lawlessness! You want protection,try having a "Knee" ministry. Instead of moving to where you "Think you and yours are "Safe"
