Los Angeles: Northeast Homicide Detectives are asking for the public's help with information on the shooting death of a 17 year old boy early Saturday Morning.
On July 22, 2006, at about 12:20 AM, officers responded to a call at the corner of Avenue 40 and Midland Street in Highland Park. The officers located a 17 year-old male Hispanic suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
A second male Hispanic 17 years-old was later located at a local hospital also suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was listed in stable condition.
The investigation so far has found that the victims were attending a gathering in the 200 block of East Avenue 40 in Highland Park, when a fight erupted between several people. The fight moved to the intersection of Avenue 40 and Midland Street where a male Hispanic, no further description, shot the victims.
The motive for the shooting appears to be gang related.
