Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department detectives arrested three men connected to a home invasion robbery and sexual assault in the early morning hours in Hollywood.
On July 25, 2006, at around 4:00 a.m., three men entered a home in the 7600 block of DeLongpre Avenue through an open sliding glass window. They woke up the two women who lived in the home and demanded money and property from them.
One suspect, who was armed with a handgun, sexually assaulted the women while the other two ransacked the apartment. The suspects then tied up the victims and fled the home with the victim’s property.
During the investigation, the victims provided police a description of the suspects and their car. At 4:45 p.m. the same day, detectives stopped a black Pontiac Grand Prix containing three males matching the suspects' description in the 3400 block of 3rd Avenue. Detectives recovered some of the victim’s property inside the car. After serving a search warrant, police found additional items belonging to the victim.
The three men arrested were identified as James Robert Keys, 21, Bennie Rushing, 27, and Jamonte Collins, 22. Keys was booked on robbery and rape charges with bail was set at $200,000. Rushing and Collins were booked on robbery charges with bail set at $100,000 for each.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Robbery Homicide Detective Gregory Stearns at 213-473-4736. During off-hours please call the 24-hour tip hotline at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855). Those who wish to remain anonymous are encouraged to call.
It sounds like the Special Investigation Section took down some more bad guys. I'm sure RHD didn't get their wingtips dirty.
Hey Yagman, take note, they didn't use excessive force, nor did they engage in an shootout.
Good job lads!
PS: Why only 200,000 bail for such a heinous crime?

I say THANK YOU to all involved in making these arrest. As a female I always refuse to rent an apt on the ground floor for safety reasons. I too have a false sense of security because I am on the 2nd or 3rd floor. I have left my sliding door and windows open too. So I see how easily it could have been me as a victim. Now I find myself thinking twice about leaving my windows open. If these animals are found to be guilty I say lock em up and throw away the key. Hopefully they will be robbed and raped in prison!

Doesn't SIS usually have some repeat offender under surveillance?
