Public's Help Needed to Solve Murder

Los Angeles: The LAPD is asking for the public's help in finding any witnesses who may have witnessed the shooting of 17 year old Brian Stansfield, a resident of North Hollywood.

On Saturday, August 5, 2006, around 10:30 a.m., North Hollywood Area officers responded to an ambulance shooting call at the La Fiesta Super Mall, 12727 Sherman Way.  Officers arrived and found the victim not breathing and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 

The victim was taken to a local hospital by rescue ambulance where he later died from the injuries he received.

The investigation revealed that the victim and his three friends were entering the store, when a male black suspect stopped them.  There was a verbal argument between the suspect and the victim.  The group decided to walk away from the suspect and continued to enter the store to shop. 
A short time later, the victim and his friends walked out of the store and were confronted by the suspect again.  Words were exchanged and the suspect then pulled out a handgun and shot Stanfield multiple times.

The suspect then ran from the shooting and drove away in a 2000/2003 white BMW 300 Series, 4 Door with tinted windows.

The motive of the crime is unknown.

Detectives also have also obtained a video of the shooting from nearby security cameras.
