Los Angeles: The LAPD is asking for the public’s help to identify a hit-and-run suspect who killed a bicyclist in the Hollywood area.
On March 16, 2008, at around 6:45 a.m., 72-year-old Artine Zarkarian was riding his bicycle northbound on Western Avenue when an unknown vehicle struck the rear of his bike just south of Elmwood Avenue and failed to stop.
Ejected from his bicycle, Zakarian landed on the street and sustained serious head injuries. He was transported by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital and eventually died from his injuries on April 29.
Anyone with additional information about the incident is encouraged to contact Detective Acosta at the LAPD West Traffic Division, 213-473-0234. During off-hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to a 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAWFULL (529-3855).
This person is a coward!
People like this are the reason the world is so messed up today.
People need to learn to care about others, and take action when someone is in trouble.
If you have unintentionally caused the trouble, you are obligated to help the victim, and take responsibility for it.
This victim may have lived, had the responsible party helped him to get medical aid, or started life saving procedures until aid could arrive.
If you ran because you had been drinking, or because you are wanted for some other crime, then shame on you.
You dont deserve your freedom anyway.
To think that whatever issue scared you to the point of running, could be more important than a human life is disgusting!
And if you were drinking and driving, you are a completely selfish moron.
We have talked about how drunk drivers kill children and adults alike for years now.
In a split second you take someones life, and ruin your own in the process.
I dont understand why people cant drink and stay in one place, or let someone else that is sober drive.
If not, then walk home.
If you cant walk home, then you clearly had more to drink than anyone really needs to have a good time.
If you cant drink without getting behind the wheel, then you should go on disability, claiming that you have no brain.
It could be you out there on the road that gets hit, and how would you feel?
If you drink and drive, you're about 12 eggs short of a dozen!
As for the responsible party in this hit and run, I hope that little voice in your head reminds you of what you have done, everyday, for the rest of your life!
COWARD!
