What was the point of this "ghetto girl makes good" article?

Plenty of people in bad nieghborhoods make it out and do well.

Hell, if it wasn't for my juvenile stickball career, I'd still be living "da hood."

hey i really give her some credit because it's really nice to see she succeeded after coming from a rough place.

It sounds like NY State of Mind has sipped a HUGE dose of Haterade! My guess is that whoever you are, you are definitely still living in "da hood!" Anytime the media chooses to portray us in a positive light, it's great. This sistah is a great success story, and I'm impressed with her accomplishments. I'd like to see a list of NY State of Mind's accomplishments. I'll bet the list will be very short.

It's really sad when individuals have nothing better to do with their time but to sit and post negative comments any chance they get! Isn't the internet just wonderful? It really allows cowards to hide behind the protection of annonymity and say what ever they want.
