There is Justice in this sworld sometimes. John you can now rest...

Where was the world when this guy was still ALIVE?!!! There's a hint of hypocrisy and irony when the world only gets its act together in these times. If you care about Justice visit Skid Row or Venice Beach--or any freeway overpass in L.A.

--Though he was considered “transient” or “homeless,” terms that tend to dehumanize--

Look up the words "transient" and "homeless". How on Earth are they words that dehumanize one? They merely describe his housing status.

Number one, the victim wasn't transient by definition. If he stayed in one area and didn't venture out, he was stagnant.

How the term "transient" became the catch-all term for bums in LAPD, I don't know.

The correct terms to categorize the victim would be "vagrant" or "hobo".

Stop with the editorializing and stick to the facts, just the facts, Jack!
