STREET CLOSURES ON JUNE 21: LAKERS PARADE ROUTE
LOS ANGELES
(June 18, 2025) — The City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation
(LADOT) has announced the closure of several streets in the Downtown
Convention Center area on Monday, June 21st. The Lakers’ Celebration
Parade, scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM at West 12th and South Figueroa
Streets, will proceed approximately two miles toward the USC campus
before turning east on Jefferson Boulevard and ending at Grand Ave.
The City anticipates closing Figueroa Street between Olympic Boulevard to the north and Jefferson Boulevard on the south beginning at midnight Sunday. Other road closures include Chick Hearn Court between Figueroa Street and Cherry Street; Cherry Street between Olympic and Pico Boulevards; Flower Street between Washington and Jefferson Boulevards; Jefferson Boulevard between Figueroa and Hoover Streets; and all intersections along the two-mile route as designated by the Los Angeles Police Department and Department of Transportation(see attached map.) LAPD and LADOT anticipate reopening major intersections along Figueroa Street as the parade commences, pending pedestrians in those areas having dispersed and other safety conditions being met.
“Congestion in the area is expected to be heavy during the morning commute hours. We request the public’s patience in using alternative routes and allowing additional travel time during this period” said LADOT General Manager Rita L. Robinson.

In Germany and other south American Countries police used a truck with a big tank very simmilar to the ones bring the gasoline. They bring water instead and has a big house that shoots the water at such point that no one group of people can put resistance and they all fall into the ground. Usually people run away when they see it. That breaks turbulence of people. It is called "Rochabusss" I think it is a German name, because it is made in Germany by "Mercedes" Co. I saw that in Peru how come police never uses that here. It is ok, that they are using tear gas.

No tear gas was used. What the LAPD used was rubber bullets that disperses unrully crowds without serious injury. Water cannons are a great idea, but in the politically correct city of Los Angeles, our leaders would rather have a riot than to use water. Go figure.
