• Police Commission President John Mack commended Chief Charlie Beck and the Department for the outstanding manner, execution and handling of the Lakers Parade.
• Police Chief Charlie Beck stated he walked the Lakers Parade route prior to the beginning of the event. Chief Beck commented overall the crowd was well mannered, and he was pleased with the way the parade was handled. Chief Beck acknowledged focus for next year’s celebration should not be on planning and execution but to avoid a riot completely.
• Police Commissioner Alan Skobin attended the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Forum this past week and stated the forum was productive. Even though the Department has made progress, one of the issues addressed at the forum was the training of transgender individuals when they join the LAPD.

• The Department’s report, dated June 16, 2010, relative to the DNA Monthly Report for April 2010, was approved.
• The Department’s report, dated June 8, 2010, relative to Hunter La-Ley Consent Decree-Coveted Position Inspection - Fourth Quarter FY 2009/10, (IAID No. 09-131), was approved.
• Received and approved presentation from IAID Captain Wakefield and Lieutenant Sandoval, relative to the GED/ CLEAR Gang Awareness Training Inspection (IAID No. 09-027). The Inspection was the first conducted by Internal Audits and Inspections Division. The inspection revealed 98 officers currently assigned to GED have not received basic gang awareness training. IAID met with personnel from Training Division, Personnel Training Bureau, Office of Operations, and Gang and Narcotics Division and recommend the 98 officers attend the basic gang awareness course. The Commission asked for a 30 day update regarding the progress of the training.
• Received and filed the Department’s report, dated June 3, 2010, relative to the Progress Update regarding the Supply Procurement and Disbursement Audit, (IAID No. 08-097).
• The Department’s report, dated June 11, 2010, relative to Duty to Conduct and Document Individual Performance Assessment was approved.
