• Police Commission President Richard Drooyan said he, along with Police Commission Vice President John Mack, was able to watch the Kings Victory parade from the Department’s command center. He said the operation went perfectly in large part due to the coordination and organization of the Department with other City agencies. He commended the Department for their outstanding efforts.
• Police Commissioner John Mack also commended the Department for successfully policing the Kings Victory parade. He added he attended the African American Community Forum with Inspector General Alexander Bustamante in West Bureau. Vice President Mack said there was a good turnout, good participation and good spirit by all involved.
• Assistant Chief Earl Paysinger commended the Department’s effort in coordinating the Kings Victory parade and thanked the Anschutz Entertainment Group for their partnership and cooperation in the event. Chief Paysinger estimated the crowd to be between 200-250 thousand people.
• The Police Commission Distinguished Service Medal was awarded to Assistant Supervising Deputy City Attorney Peter Shutan, Deputy City Attorney Jeanie Lewin, Deputy City Attorney Kurt Knecht, Paralegal Pamela Blair, and Legal Secretary L’Tanya Portlock, for their outstanding work in creating the Safer Cities Initiative Parole Tracking Unit in the Skid Row Area.
• The Department’s report, dated June 8, 2012, relative to the proposed audit/inspection plan for fiscal year 2012/12 and 2013/14 (IAID No. 12-056), was approved.
