Violent crimes are going to go up and above last years numbers. I have no doubt that one factor in this is that cops are not as proactive as they were. Maybe if the leadership and the management on this police department would wake up and back officers we would bring these numbers down. But as long as we are not backed by the Chief, his command staff, and the other brass on the department you can forget it. Alot of cops are talking and they are not going put their careers on the line for a department who can't support its officers. They will do the bare minimum and forget being aggressive on crime. Cause any criminal who gets arrested will make a complaint and this department will take it.

Amen Harry. Not to mention the crime game numbers shuffle that the consent decree is forcing down the city's mouth! Bratton needs to step up and be the east coast aggressive Chief he used to be. He has the TV cameras and high ranking position to help this city out, but he is being a coward in the political arena.

The Chief wont. crime is going to go up. Cops will not be aggressive on crime and it will be him and the so called leaders on the LAPD. Step up and do the right thing. Support your cops. Or they will shut down and only handle the MDT. Smile and waive. Remember that. Well it comming back.Get rid of this stupid complaint system where anything goes. Police officers are not going to sacrifice there careers and their families well being because of a unfair complaint system and a unfair disciplinary system. They will be thinking of their careers. They will not be aggressive on crime and will do the bar minimum.

Enough with the endless whining about the complaint system. Take your issues to your union, that's what they are there for. If they can't get the job done, then fire them. Unprofessional conduct such as "only handle the MDT" and "we are not backed by the Chief, brass, etc" will only add fuel to the fire and will not solve any of your problems.
