Okay this became an FID call out. Talk about a waste of Department resources. This was treated like a shooting, officers separated, interviews, crime scene tape. It was a minor use of force where a suspect got a few abrasions and a slight knock on the head. Its a sad thing what our taxpayer's money goes to. On a side note, great broadcast and a quick response from all those involved. Nice job Ivana and boot.

I have two questions regarding this story:

1 - Why is this story worthy of being on the LAPD blog?
I ask this because in the five days since the last post, there HAS to have been more important news made by the LAPD than a man chased and subdued without any significant injuries.

2 - Why on earth would the Force Investigation Division be involved if the LAPD Press Release specifically states that the minor injuries Mr. Jackson got were not due to a police radio?

To paraphrase, a citizen with a warrant (and admitting he has a warrant) runs and is taken into custody. No serious injury is sustained by anyone involved in the scuffle. Yet, two officers doing their job are now being investigated? (Question #3 I guess)

Can somebody please help me with this? My powers over the obvious can only go so far. It doesn't sound like anybody did anything wrong, especially considering that a person wanted for a felony crime was captured.

Hey Chief, the police commission called and our new foam rubber radios will be ready next month. In the meantime no officer is to carry a metal radio!
