Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers arrested a Van Nuys High School math teacher for allegedly kissing a 17-year-old student.
Officers from Van Nuys Division arrested 59-year-old Iusmen Iusmen (same first and last name) for a misdemeanor charge of “Child Annoying.” Iusmen allegedly kissed a 12th grader on her cheeks and lips against her will. He also made sexually explicit statements to her.
Any current or former students, who may have been subjected to inappropriate sexual contact with Iusmen, are asked to call Van Nuys Detective John Eum at (818) 374-0090. After hours or on weekends, call the 24-hour toll free number at 1-877-LAW-FULL (529-3855).
Iusmen is my neighbor. He is a decent human being we have known for years. It seems to me that teachers are easy targets because of very few with criminal ones, just as the rest of our population has bad citizens.

Mr. Iusman is a talented teacher and an upstanding citizen. It is too bad that he has been accused of such an act. My son was in his class this entire school year and witnessed Mr. Iusman to be a gentleman at all times through his spoken word and his physical behavior.
