All the news said was that the LA Officer was "...walking down the street with a firearm." There's gotta be more to it than that!

Who in their right mind would be walking down the street at 12:30am holding a shotgun (the weapon according to the news)? Of course, there is going to be much more to this story.

Someone else must have called Long Beach PD to report this "armed suspect" otherwise, I'm sure this off-duty officer would not be still holding the shotgun when the LBPD officers made contact with him. If he was the one who called the PD, it would seem logical that he would describe what he was wearing so that he wouldn't be mistaken for a suspect.

Please include follow-up information on this story. I'm glad the off-duty officer is going to survive.

There is a lot more to what occurred. However, it would be best for the Long Beach PD to release a few more datails and hopefuly they will get posted so the public has a better understanding of this incident.

Trust me - the general public are not going to hear all the facts right now - Long Beach Police is doing major damage control...
