One Roommate is Dead, the Other has been Arrested for Murder

Los Angeles: A dispute between two roommates turned violent early Sunday morning, leaving one person dead and the other under arrest for murder.

On November 30, 2008, at around 9:15 a.m., Rampart Area officers responded to a radio call of a stabbing in the 2900 block of West 8th Street.  When they arrived Los Angeles City Fire paramedics were already on scene treating a possible suspect.  Officers were told that there was another possible victim inside the location.  Once inside the residence Officer's found a man in the living room suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The victim, a Hispanic man, 58-years of age, was transported to a local hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.  He failed to respond to medical treatment and died approximately eight hours after being admitted.  His name is being withheld until his family can be notified.

The man's roommate, 63-year-old Cresencio Gomez, was arrested for murder.  He is being held on $1 million bail.
