Young Man Shot in South Los Angeles

Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the persons responsible for the shooting death of 18-year-old Malik Guiden.  

On Saturday, November 29, 2024 at about 10:20 p.m., Malik was walking northbound on the 2300 block of Arlington Avenue when he was shot multiple times.  According to witnesses four male Blacks in a dark vehicle drove up next to Malik and shot him.  Malik collapsed on the sidewalk.  The suspects fled northbound on Arlington Avenue.

Los Angeles Paramedics responded and transported Malik to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

The suspects and their weapons remain outstanding.  The motive for this incident appears to be gang related.

The suspects are described as four male, Blacks in their late teens to early 20s.    

Anyone with information is asked to contact South Bureau Homicide Detectives Robert Lait and Vince Carreon at 213-485-1383.  After hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 or by texting CRIMES (274637) and beginning the message with the letters LAPD.  Tipsters may also submit information on the LAPD website www.lapdonline.org.  All tips will remain anonymous.
