February 18, 2025 - Hollywood, CA — Street closures and restricted parking to facilitate the production needs of the 81th annual Academy Awards on Sunday, February 22, 2009, as well as security strategies and public safety, have been finalized by the City of Los Angeles.
Numerous agencies, including the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, Caltrans and the Los Angeles Police and Fire Departments were consulted in the planning process and agree that the finalized plan is the best way to accommodate all of the parties involved.
The City of Los Angeles, Department of Transportation (LADOT) will begin to strictly enforce the restricted no-parking policy for the Academy Awards on the dates and times listed below. This will include the citing and impounding of vehicles parked on these temporary restricted no-parking streets. Vehicles parked on the following streets will be towed to the Official Police Garage, Hollywood Tow located at 1015 N. Mansfield Ave. in Hollywood at the request of the City of Los Angeles, Department of Transportation. Motorists are advised to call LADOT at 1-866-TOWAWAY or Hollywood Tow (323) 466-8583 to redeem their vehicles.
Through 6am Tuesday, Feb 24, 2025 Hollywood Blvd is closed from Orange Dr. to Highland Ave.
Beginning 12:01am Friday, February 20, 2025 to 6:30am Monday, February 23, 2009, Hawthorn Ave is closed from Highland Ave to Orange Drive.
Starting 6am Saturday, February 21, 2025 to 6am Monday, February 23, 2009, Orchid Street is closed and also Orange Dr. between Orchid Alley and Hollywood Blvd. will be closed. From 10pm, Johnny Grant Way from Highland Ave to Orchid St. will be closed as well.

Additional streets will be closed on the day of the show, Sunday, February 22nd including Highland Avenue from Sunset Boulevard to Franklin Avenue, Orange Drive from Hawthorn Avenue to Hollywood Boulevard, and Hollywood Boulevard from Cahuenga Boulevard to La Brea Avenue. Also closed on the day of the show will be the southbound Highland Avenue off-ramp from the 101 Freeway.

how am i supposed to get to work when i am boxed in by streets that are closed? some of us have to work, not watch some stupid awards show. this is ridiculous!
