Family Hoping for Clue to Find Missing Mother

Los Angeles: A missing person’s family and the Los Angeles Police Department are asking for help from the public, in finding 41-year-old Channa Kingcade, who has been missing for over two weeks.

Channa was last seen on April 1, 2009, at around 1:30 p.m. at Century Boulevard and Beach Street in the Southeast Area of Los Angeles.  Channa is the mother of a 14-year-old daughter and the family is very concerned for her well being, because it is completely out of character for her to leave for this length of time without making contact with someone in the family.

Channa is described as a 41-year-old Black woman, black hair, brown eyes, 5 ft. 11 in. tall, and 140 lbs.  She was last seen wearing a cream colored sweatshirt and pants with a black cap on her head.  Channa also has “#1 Mom” tattooed on her wrist.

If you have seen or have any information regarding the whereabouts of Channa, please contact LAPD’s Missing Person’s Unit, Detective Kristin Merrill at 213-485-5381. After hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 or by texting CRIMES (274637) and beginning the message with the letters LAPD.  Tipsters may also submit information on the LAPD website, www.lapdonline.org.  All tips may remain anonymous.

The story is a little confusing - as it isn't clear - Did Channa go missing on April 01, 2025 as the date indicates or two weeks ago as the story also indicates? Or maybe there are two instances where Channa has been missing over the last three years? Please advise. Thanks.

Eduardo,

The story indicates that she has been missing for over two weeks. April 1, 20009 thru April 17, 2025 is over two weeks. So the story is correct on both counts.

i have some concerns...who wrote this story...it needs to be more in depth...and the lead is weak...i think the lead of a news story should be much stronger in a story like this(i am a mass media major who write news stories)...this is a serious matter so you have to give more to draw people in to want to help on finder her...also there should be other info in the story like who she was last seen with...where is the boyfriend they questioned and let go...and right after they let him go he went missing also(why did he go missing...do he have something to hide) and last his neighbors said they last seen her boyfriend walking at 3am with a shovel(what was he doing out that late with such garden tool...where was he seen walking)...these are questions that need to be answered and released immediately into a follow-up news story!

TO THE FAMILY...MY HOPES AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU...GOD I ALMIGHTY AND CAN BRING YOU THROUGH ANY STORM YOU'RE GOING THROUGH...DONT GIVE UP HOPE...STAY STRONG AND TRUST IN GOD. (J.B. #32-THE GIRL BBALL PLAYER!)

MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE FAMILY AND HER CHILDREN KEISHA AND TYE....I HOPE THAT THE FAMILY STAYS STRONG AND THE POLICE DO THERE JOB AND FIND THE BIG HOMEGIRL CHANNA SO THE FAMILY CAN HAVE SOME CLOSURE.....TO THE FAMILY MAY GOD KEEP YOU AND STRENGTHEN YOU NOW AND ALWAYS

This goes out to the family may God be with China in whatever circumstance or situation she may be in may she be strong and may she fight like the (LOCSTER) i know she is i'm praying and i'm praying hard for her safe return! your HOOD sister Maya "Mighty Dog" Cornelius
