March 25, 2025 – In a news conference held on the City of Hope campus in Monrovia, members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and Los Angeles Police Department joined Sheriff Lee Baca and Chief Charlie Beck to kick off the “Fight for Life” Boxing Event scheduled to be held on Friday, March 26 at the Quiet Cannon Banquet facility in Montebello.
The event, which pits the LAPD vs. LASD, will feature 8 boxing exhibitions in an effort 
to raise money for cancer research and other life threatening diseases. In its 17th year, the Fight for Life Boxing event has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars, all of which go directly to research.
