Fatal Traffic Collision

Los Angeles:  The Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Detectives are investigating the traffic collision that occurred last night at Glenoaks Boulevard and Dyer Street, in Sylmar.

On April 21, 2010, at around 8:10 p.m., a 2004 Toyota Corolla sedan, blue, driven by Jovanna Janet Lugo, a 27 year-old resident of Sylmar was in the process of negotiating a "U turn", mid block on Glenoaks Boulevard, south of Dyer Street.  A black and white Los Angeles police vehicle was traveling northbound on Glenoaks and impacted the Corolla as it was negotiating the "U turn". As a result of the collision Lugo died at the scene. The two Police Officers in the black and white police vehicle suffered moderate injuries and were transported to a local hospital.
