The LAPD D Line is amazing. No way that LAFD is going to be able to compete.

To encourage recruitment and improve the quality of life of our LAPD officers, why not have a competition between our world-class fashion designers in Los Angeles for a new uniform? And how about one not made out of wool! Let the officers vote for their favorite design.

Chris, I totally agree with your uniform recruiting idea about the uniforms. I see Lapd officers on hot sunny days and wonder how they carry all the gear they wear along with wearing the wool uniforms. With all the change going on in the department you would think maybe designing a uniform that the officers would be comfortable in would have been something already thought of. I guess that isnt the case just yet.

I think that if you want to attract younger men and women, you should show them/me what they want to see... Technology. You should have a vertual tour of the black & white and have different images of inside the car. You should show of the MDT'S (in-car computers), the different light and sirens functions, and the other technology that the officers will use. This will attract people who like to see new technology, who are young, people like me. Give the people what they want to see!!!
