Los Angeles: On August 7, 2012, the members of the Los Angeles Police Commission elected Andrea Sheridan Ordin to serve as the new President. She is replacing Police Commissioner Richard Drooyan in this post as he completes a one-year term as President.
“I am honored and pleased to serve in the position of President,” stated President Sheridan Ordin. I have always felt this is a Commission of five, and look forward to receiving the continued guidance and unique expertise of each member of the Commission.”
Police Commissioner John W. Mack will again be serving as Vice President. Rounding out the Commission are Richard Drooyan, Robert Saltzman, and Debra Wong Yang. Coincidentally, today is Commissioner Wong Yang’s last day as a Police Commissioner as she submitted her resignation to Mayor Villaraigosa upon completing her first term. Her fellow Police Commissioners thanked her for her dedicated expertise on the Police Commission and commitment to public safety in the City of Los Angeles
